About converting PNG to JPG
PNG and JPG solve different problems, and PNG is the wrong tool for a photograph. It keeps every pixel exactly, which is brilliant for a logo with hard edges but wasteful for a sunset full of soft gradients — the same holiday snap can weigh four megabytes as a PNG and a tenth of that as a JPG. Move a photo to JPG and you shed the dead weight the format was never meant to carry.
The rule of thumb is simple: photographs and detailed, colour-rich images belong in JPG; flat graphics, screenshots of text, and anything that needs transparency stay in PNG. If your PNG is a picture rather than a diagram, this is the conversion that makes it web-ready.

Will I lose quality turning a PNG photo into JPG?
For photographs, no visible loss at normal quality. JPG discards data your eye cannot resolve in soft, detailed images, which is exactly why a four-megabyte PNG snapshot can become a sharp 400 KB JPG that looks the same.
Should every PNG become a JPG?
No. JPG wins for photos and rich, colourful images. Keep PNG for logos, icons, screenshots of text and anything with transparency, where JPG would soften edges or fill the transparent areas.
What happens to the transparent parts of my PNG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so any see-through areas are flattened onto a solid white background. If a transparent cut-out matters, convert to WebP or keep the PNG instead.
